Overview
This hands-on training course provides a brief introduction to the operations-level of VMware Infrastructure 3. The architecture consists of VMware ESX Server and VirtualCenter. ESX Server enables the sharing of physical resources among the virtual machines it hosts. VirtualCenter is used to manage multiple ESX servers in the virtual infrastructure environment and offers advanced features such as VMotion.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Create an Active Directory infrastructure for virtual desktops
- Apply Group Policy Objects and roaming-profile technology in a VMware virtual desktop infrastructure
- Create and manage Windows XP and Vista virtual desktops using VMware VDM 2.0.
- Administer a variety of client devices: PCs and thin clients
- Use VMware Update Manager (VUM) in a VDI.
Target Audience
This course is designed for IT managers and others new to virtualization who want to understand and evaluate the capabilities of VMware Virtual Infrastructure. |
